Didn’t I?

Didn’t I dream that I was on fire?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream that I was a star?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream I was not a liar?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream of the dance of death?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream a smile not remembered?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream a land in flame and smoke?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream that the trees could talk?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Didn’t I dream the sky was bleeding?
And you
didn’t you dream an empty grey room
With nothing at all?
Didn’t you dream me a box
With nothing at all?

Ear Honey

A voice buzzes
A bee in my ear
Legs scratching in my tubes
Microscopic ear
Hairs intertwine with the hairs of his legs
I sit still, completely still
I do not budge.
How I control myself is simple:
If I panic he will sting me.
I know that he is there only
to collect the wax from me
to make his honey
So I will wait for this discomfort to pass.
Then I will go to his home
And he will give me honey.
which I will pour down my throat.

Fled has that music

Fled has that music, out to the cold dark spaces between the stars,
Only a distant echo of your time here remains, that time when you ran into the wind… the clouds that ran across the sky.
Fled has that music, of the turning Earth and the spheres rolling silently through the dark spaces between the stars.
Of the voice that danced in your throat, a cry to welcome the sun.
Fled has that music. In the perfect silence, in the dark spaces.

Why the fox?

For he reminds us of ourselves.
For he is beautiful.
For he lives amongst us.
For he is free.
For he always finds a way.
For he is cool.
For he dresses well.
For he always looks well.
For he flourishes.
For he thinks he knows.
For he doubts.
For he is sly but easy to discover.
For he is of no consequence.
For he dies and is reborn very quickly.
For he is not involved in the affairs of men.

Remember that language?

Remember that language?
Remember that language?
Remember that language that you used to speak?
Remember that language that you used to speak?
The stuff you used to say?
The stuff you used to say?
Remember that language?
Remember that language that you used to speak?
The stuff you used to say?
Did you say anything different?
Did you say anything different?
Did you say anything different to what you’re saying now?
Remember that language?
Remember that language?
