fail 2016 means succeed 2016

fail 2016 means succeed 2016

To create you have to fail, fail 2016 means succeed 2016!

To create you have to fail. This is 2016. Fail 2016 means succeed 2016?

Time to create the uncreated. To create you have to fail. I set out to fail really well this year … and here are some of the ways I am going to do it. I set out to succeed: the ways I intend to do that are exactly the same.

This post is a perfect example! I put it up last night and then it disappeared! So fail spectacularly because you’re taking risks. And maybe you’ll succeed.

Here are some of the ways you’ll be able to watch me failing:

An electro group I’ve been playing with for nearly a year with Gabriel Guerin and Mathieu Autin. Live shows coming so watch this space!

Zarboth

“There’s No Devils at All, it’s Just the System” the third album by Zarboth and where I am a special guest came out on Friday the 13th November 2015. Yes, that Friday. Its weird in -your -face rock will be playing around France and the universe. The album artwork is by yours truly.

Voices from the Other Side

Speaking of artwork, I will bring together my drawings in a small pocket sized book. You will be able to walk around with this book in your possession. The form for acquiring it has to be defined. A perfomance, a conference, a meeting? You can see the kind of images that it will contain here:

Welcome to my Studio*

Finally my main resolution : post every week observations and notes about my creative activity on this website. In other words you will be able to come into my studio* and the non-stop party that this is my life. This will be to allow you all to create your own work, to have a laugh, to sigh, to get jealous (maybe) but most of all it will make you want to make you do your own stuff.

I’ll share links to other sites that have similar approaches.

Fail better, fail often

I’ll think of some other ways to try failing. And I’ll tell you about it very quickly…

One week on…

It’s one week after the attacks in Paris, attacks that are being repeated around the world, in different cities and countries, sometimes the attackers change, terrorists or terrorist states, but the victims stay the same… Its people with guns and bombs killing people with no guns or bombs…

Sad for all the victims and their friends and families. Sad for all the victims to come.

On Friday the 13th I was in Lorient in Brittany, France playing with Zarboth. It was the day that our album came out. We described it as a post apocalyptic album. This was before the terrorist attacks. The title of the album “There’s No Devils at All, it’s just the System” is a reflection of the times that we live in. We can’t do anything other than that, reflect and carry on.

Illegitimi non carborundum

The pen is truly mightier than the sword, despite all the toxic ideas that we pick up in these materialistic times. Not the pen that signs the orders to send off the drones, or types the orders text message style to start the killing, but the pen that opens the doors to the imagination, to notice the world that we are in, to the other worlds that surround this playground, this playground that the gunmen try to stop us from playing in.

Sometimes you don’t even have pens. What is behind the pens? What drives the pens? Its a push into the future, a push into possibilities, a push into finding solutions by opening and not by closing.

Zarboth are playing live on the 16th of December 2015 in Le Petit Bain in Paris. Hope you can make it.

Friday the 13th November 2015- it’s the perfect day to launch this album by Zarboth, indie rock duo, with guitarist Phil Reptil (La Theory du Reptil, Osteti, E330) and the drummer/ singer Etienne Gaillochet (We Insist!). The illustrations are by me and I was invited to contribute trumpet and rapping skills to the album… So it’s here at last. It’s loud and it’s full of love. And stuff. Check it out.
