One week on…

It’s one week after the attacks in Paris, attacks that are being repeated around the world, in different cities and countries, sometimes the attackers change, terrorists or terrorist states, but the victims stay the same… Its people with guns and bombs killing people with no guns or bombs…

Sad for all the victims and their friends and families. Sad for all the victims to come.

On Friday the 13th I was in Lorient in Brittany, France playing with Zarboth. It was the day that our album came out. We described it as a post apocalyptic album. This was before the terrorist attacks. The title of the album “There’s No Devils at All, it’s just the System” is a reflection of the times that we live in. We can’t do anything other than that, reflect and carry on.

Illegitimi non carborundum

The pen is truly mightier than the sword, despite all the toxic ideas that we pick up in these materialistic times. Not the pen that signs the orders to send off the drones, or types the orders text message style to start the killing, but the pen that opens the doors to the imagination, to notice the world that we are in, to the other worlds that surround this playground, this playground that the gunmen try to stop us from playing in.

Sometimes you don’t even have pens. What is behind the pens? What drives the pens? Its a push into the future, a push into possibilities, a push into finding solutions by opening and not by closing.

Zarboth are playing live on the 16th of December 2015 in Le Petit Bain in Paris. Hope you can make it.

Friday the 13th November 2015- it’s the perfect day to launch this album by Zarboth, indie rock duo, with guitarist Phil Reptil (La Theory du Reptil, Osteti, E330) and the drummer/ singer Etienne Gaillochet (We Insist!). The illustrations are by me and I was invited to contribute trumpet and rapping skills to the album… So it’s here at last. It’s loud and it’s full of love. And stuff. Check it out.
